History

The Omega Museum was founded in 2007 by a group of eight members of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.’s Rho Gamma Gamma Chapter in Chicago, Illinois. These men envisioned a facility that would provide underserved youth with the support and resources they need to succeed, while also showcasing the achievements of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity members and other prominent African Americans.

Mission

TThe mission of the Omega Museum is to display historical artifacts and memorabilia of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. members in Chicago, and to join forces with other African American Greek organizations known as the Divine 9 to create a unified program distribution that empowers the community towards progress in equality.

Our Vision

The vision of the Omega Museum is to provide a central repository to promote the positive legacy of African American fraternities and sororities, as well as their members. Specifically, the museum aims to achieve this vision by:

  1. Identifying, promoting, and displaying the accomplishments of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. members in various fields, including religion, education, business, science, politics, entertainment, and sports.

  2. Displaying prominent men and women of the Pan-Hellenic Greek organizations, which includes nine historically African American fraternities and sororities.

  3. Developing various outreach programs to the immediate community that empower young people with the resources they need to succeed and make informed decisions about their future.

  4. Establishing an endowment fund for the future expansion of the Omega Museum concept.

Through these objectives, the Omega Museum seeks to create a space that celebrates the achievements of African American Greek organizations and their members, while also providing vital resources to young people in need. Ultimately, the vision of the Omega Museum is to promote a positive legacy of excellence and achievement within the African American community.
